Beautiful Servant

One question people always start blogs with is "why that name?" Some brief reasons, I want to convey so many ideas from this blog. I want to convey to readers, specifically girls, that they are special. Not just because of who they are or what they look like, but who they are because of Jesus. Thus the beautiful. All girls need to know they are beautiful. They are made by God in His image. Beautiful.

Next, the servant. This should be the goal of every Christian. There is that old adage that Actions speak louder than words. There is no difference in Christianity. We show what we believe by how we act out our beliefs. How better to show someone that you love them in Christ than serve them???!!! Why would you do this except for Christ? Humans are selfish creatures who think of nothing but themselves. We have to show that we are different!

On a side note, God is really humbling me this semester. I think that is the point of any seminary experience. It is not for the information learned (although I have learned a whole lot!), but for the relationship you build with students, professors, and most importantly God. God has taught me to be more reliant on Him not just for the "big" things, and not just for the emergency "God help me on this test!", but He wants to be involved in every aspect of your life. Relationships, friendships, school, finances, He wants it all! He also wants Christians to stop thinking about themselves. Yes, life in general sucks. That's a fact. There are all sorts of things to worry about, but most of the time worrying will not change any circumstance. If we learn to think about others more, and to serve them, troubles will not always go away, but there is not time to worry about them when you are busy helping others! Our God is a BIG God who made the world! I think He has that $200 for rent this month. Not saying we should just sit back and expect God to drop it from the sky, sometimes we might need to get a job. But that's not saying that he can't. Take Peter and the fish!

There are many other reasons for me choosing this title for a blog:
It doesn't specifically mention Christianity, which will help when I go oversees.
It was available!!! <---Good reason! :-)
It is fairly feminine with the "beautiful"...
And many more...

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! I feel refreshed and ready to get done with finals!!! I can't believe the school semester is almost over! I still feel funny completing this semester of grad school when I haven't walked for my undergrad, yet. I do that the week of Christmas. I am very Thankful that God has provided me with many friends here that I know I will take advantage of when I begin my missionary career. I am thankful He provided me this opportunity to continue my education experience and that I have wonderful professors this semester. I am thankful that He has provided me with a wonderful church family so soon after I moved to Ft Worth! And I'm thankful He provided snow this morning and cold weather to welcome in the Christmas holidays! :-)
