Week 32–Changes

Week 32

Has it already been eight months? Time does fly, doesn’t it? Especially when you have a very active almost 2 year old, as well as many more responsibilities.

But I have a very sneaking suspicion things are about to go slowly. Very. Very. Slow.

When I went to the doctor yesterday, I told her that I have been experiencing pretty bad cramps that I thought were just Braxton Hicks. She went ahead and checked, and I am already dilated to 2cm! Plus, baby Ruthie is in the “go” position: head down, bottom up!

The prescription: Bed rest and magnesium. (She said 3-4 weeks b.r., but I go to another dr in a couple of weeks, so I will see what she says…)

Even though I am a little frightened of what might could happen (especially if I read some of the information or stories online), I know who holds my little girls in His hands. And me, for that matter.

So, I am just going to lay down for the next month or so, read a few books, write a few blogs, try to learn from my Maker and Savior what He wants me to learn during this time, and get ready for the birth of my baby girl. I am not even concerned with David taking care of Gideon all the time! I know they are great buddies, and will have to get used to momma being busy with baby sister for a while.

It is a little frustrating, though. Last week I was saying how great ministry was going for David and me…and now, bed rest. *Sigh* I know God knows what He is doing, though! And this is going to allow me to trust Him more than ever!

How far along? 32 Weeks
Name: Ruth Judsyn Barker – We’re having a girl!
Best moment this week: Getting a box from my Aunt Sis and cousins Sheryl and Kim! We had mac& cheese for lunch, thanks to these lovely ladies. AND, Miss Ruthie has a coming home dress!Miss Anything? Not having contractions would be big on my list right now. Not worrying about going into labor early…
Movement: Still tons. But not like Gid, who wanted to break out. Hers are more “I’m here…trying to get comfy…and randomly moving.”
Food cravings: Still aversions to meat, but love strawberries and grapes! And avocados! YUM!
Belly Button in or out? OUT! Pretty much. It never really went back in after Gid, so it was inevitable that it would be out eventually.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Woke up today very happy. I thought I would be frustrated or stressed out, but knowing that Jesus controls and knows everything going on, I am weightlessly worry free and happy.
Weight Gain So far: 16lbs so far…5kg from my last appointment. My doctor was pretty happy about that!
Looking forward to: Bows. Frills. Ruffles. Oh my!

Prayer Needs:
For David: Doing ministry and taking care of a 2 year old (this includes football practice). I cannot lift or chase after Gideon like I have been, and even after just one day, I miss my buddy.
- For me to actually rest, but also accomplish what I can while laying down or on the couch.

Psalm 139:13-16
For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.
